MIRRORLESS CAMERAS - THE FUTURE OF PHOTOGRAPHY

The first reason why professional photographers, whether amateurs or aspiring professionals, should switch to MIRRORLESS CAMERAS is that they are simply easier to use.

All the major camera manufacturers have decided that mirrorless cameras are the future and DSLRs will soon become the past. As of 2020, none of the "Big Three" manufacturers (Nikon, Canon and Sony) have released a new DSLR camera or lens, and all their R&D has been on system cameras and lenses.

RELATIVELY SMALL SIZE AND HIGH-QUALITY PHOTOS

Mirrorless cameras (cameras without a mirror mechanism) are gaining popularity due to their relatively small size and the ability to capture high-quality images. Compared to DSLR cameras, mirrorless cameras share similarities in that they also allow lens changes, have convenient body controls, various manual adjustment options, and fast autofocus.

Olympus was the first manufacturer to introduce mirrorless cameras for the mass market. These cameras aim to provide a balanced solution between digital and DSLR cameras.

The main advantages of mirrorless cameras are high-quality photos and smaller size compared to DSLR cameras.

Mirrorless cameras inherit from DSLRs the ability to change lenses, faster focus, and a larger sensor that ensures better photo quality. From compact cameras and smartphones, mirrorless cameras have adopted compactness, lightness, ease of use, detailed filming capabilities, and various built-in shooting modes.

Technically, mirrorless cameras differ from DSLRs only in that they lack a mirror, so light travels directly to the sensor, and the same image is visible on the screen or viewfinder (if available).

IMAGE STABILIZATION FEATURE

Another distinctive feature often found in many mirrorless cameras is image stabilization, which is performed by the sensor. Almost all mirrorless camera manufacturers incorporate this technology in their camera lines. This practically means there is no need to worry about stabilized lenses anymore – any attached lens becomes stabilized.

Almost all mirrorless camera models are smaller and, in many cases, lighter than similar DSLR models. Smaller size is often one of the main reasons photographers choose mirrorless cameras.
